Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health.
When my brother began to experience symptoms of mental health distress as a young adult, we had no idea how to respond or support him. We didn’t recognize the signs, we didn’t have the resources, we didn’t yet know how to be allies, or even how to talk about it amongst ourselves or with our friends, family and community.
As the journey continues to evolve, we ride the wave of knowledge, recovery, and integration together.
When this vulnerable experience began, I desperately reached out for support in my community, only to find a lack of resources, funding, and support groups.
I feel that it is important to have dedicated spaces to share about the communal and familial experience that accompanies mental health distress and disorders.
Mental Health Convos is a space to share about my personal experience of learning about bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, mania, paranoia, psychosis, and also mental wellness, mental health tools, boundary setting, surrender, recovery, and integration.
